Johnson City, Texas-based Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), the largest electric cooperative in the US, wanted to quickly and efficiently deploy a new Distribution Management System (DMS) they could rely on.

PEC did an extensive evaluation of other DMS solutions and chose the Trimble DMS system both because it had familiarity with the Trimble and the proposed Trimble DMS solution had capabilities that the other solutions did not. After careful planning, coordination and execution between the Trimble Energy professional services team and the team from PEC, what was originally planned as a one year DMS implementation project was successfully completed in less than four months. The Trimble DMS solution deployed at PEC also include outage management capabilities to enable to fast-growing electric cooperative to improve outage response and compress service restoration times.
