Since the launch of Telog 32-series and 35-series RTUs, Trimble Water has been at the forefront of providing best in class communication technology for wireless remote monitoring applications. We are now looking to expand our 4G IoT capabilities by offering Cat-M1 support on Verizon cellular LTE networks across the United States starting April 1st, 2021.
LTE/Category M1 (Cat M1) is a low-power wide area (LPWAN) cellular technology that is built specifically for IoT applications. Using this modem technology allows our RTUs to have a lower power consumption while running on the same carrier LTE networks.
The advantages of Cat-M modem for wireless remote monitoring applications are:
- Longer maintenance intervals due to longer battery life.
- Improved Quality of Service and call success rate.
- Optional Always On Monitoring ensuring that you have access to data in real time (Ru-35 only).
Cat-M Modems will only be available on the Telog Ru-35 and Telog HPR-32 lines at the time of launch.
