Since the launch of Telog 32-series and 35-series RTUs, Trimble Water has been at the forefront of providing best in class communication technology for wireless remote monitoring applications. We are now expanding our communication capabilities by launching FirstNet capable RTUs to serve the needs for Water Utility First Responders across the United States starting September 16th, 2021.
What is FirstNet?
FirstNet is a dedicated cellular network for First Responders, setup by the US Government through AT&T. It is a functionally and physically separate cellular network to other carriers in the marketplace that guarantees continuity of coverage during emergency conditions.
How does this help First Responders?
Reliable and timely access to field data is critical when responding to emergency events. From monitoring water pressure during firestorms to monitoring SSOs/CSOs during flood events, it is critical to get access to field data in a timely manner to allow for remedial and corrective action to take place. FirstNet guarantees continuity of data during such events by deploying additional field infrastructure, ensuring you have access to your data when you need it.
What devices will support FirstNet?
FirstNet Modems will only be available on all 32-series and 35-series RTUs starting September 16th, 2021.
