One of them is Aaro Põder, who works as a consultant in the Data Processing Services team in Finland. So Aaro, tell us a bit more about yourself!
What kind of background do you have?
My educational background is greatly related to information technology. I’ve studied Information System Analysis and Business Information Technology. Previously I have worked at Eesti Energia as an analyst in the Business Systems department and later in the Business and Information Technology unit. After that at Elektrilevi, where I was responsible for implementing the company's central network information system in business processes, keeping the entire system and related concept sustainable and always up-to-date. This culminated in a thesis "Aligning Mission Critical Asset Information System Architecture with Enterprise Strategy Based on Elektrilevi’s Network Information System" - what are the activities that need to be done in order for the information system to help save costs, at the same time to support the company's strategic goals as much as possible and by creating value for the business?
For a short period, I also worked in a software development company as a system analyst. My experience and knowledge in technology are largely related to the work challenges - the daily use of SQL query language, data analysis, and presentation of big data, implementation of TOGAF architecture framework, geoinformatics capabilities, business process optimization, etc. I’ve also completed i.e DevOps Fundamentals, Scrum Master, Product Owner training.
What do you do at Trimble?
I applied to Trimble because while working in Elektrilevi I did realize how powerful is the system the company is using and how wonderful would be to participate in developing that system to see and understand everything on a more detailed level. I have been at Trimble for 4 years. My main duties are working together mainly with our Baltic customers, to support and help them to achieve their business goals with the support of our solutions - acting as a project manager or consultant, providing technical support and professional competence, understanding the business requirements, and making technical documentation.
The best thing at Trimble is working together with the customer to find new solutions to the customer’s problems. It means the possibilities to solve difficult IT challenges, understand the customer’s business processes together with their needs and goals. At the same time, I enjoy the internationality and working together with very talented managers and specialists thanks to whom it is possible to learn something new almost every day. I really enjoy the atmosphere in the company culture!
What do you expect the most from next year, 2022?
I’m keen on facing new challenges by improving my skills which I would like to know more about. Also, I am excited about the new projects that will take place next year. And for sure, after almost 2 years, I’m keen on visiting the new office in Finland and see my good colleagues face to face.
