Description

“My educational background is in electrical engineering. After graduation, I worked as a project engineer with another software vendor’s DMS and SCADA for almost five years. My work included deployment projects for new systems or system extensions, training and technical support, and partly also product development and sales support tasks.

I joined Trimble quite recently. Trimble has a strong foothold as a supplier of network information and distribution management systems in the Nordic and Baltic regions. Interaction with customers is active, and Trimble also has a strong focus on software development. The factor that ultimately enabled me to take the job was the opportunity to work mainly remotely, as I live more than 150 km away from the office. At Trimble, my tasks include solving customers' system problems and advising them on how to use the software, installing new software versions for customers, and sharing tips and instructions in our online customer community.”

What is the best thing about your job?

“It's a bit difficult to answer this question after only a few weeks of working at Trimble, but at this stage I'd have to say it's the people I work with. They have made it really easy to start at Trimble. Reflecting on my previous work history, which also included tackling customer’s software challenges, it's always great when you get to provide a solution to a customer's problem. Whether it's solving a long-standing software problem or installing new functionality. Furthermore, taking my background into account, it is interesting to see what similarities and differences there are in Trimble's systems compared to what I have experienced in the past.”

What are your expectations for this year?

“I'm looking forward to getting to know my new colleagues and of course to learn the Trimble systems in depth.  At some point, I also hope to be involved in new system or system extension deployments and, where possible, to meet our customers face to face.”

Description

“I have previously worked for Trimble for many years – approximately 15 – in different roles, for example as a consultant for our district heating customers and before that as an account manager. For the last few years I worked at Caruna, and returned to Trimble at the end of May.”

Vesa holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering and already knows many of our customers, having supported them in various situations in the past. Now he can continue the good work in the customer support team as a software specialist.
