Data is read from the source systems, the integration is responsible for change management, and only the changed data is exported to the target system.

Sounds straightforward, and that's what it is with Trimble's unique, patented solution. Successful data transfer will only need access to the source material – there is no counterpart required to define and implement the interface. The system integration is greatly alleviated by the fact that the source system does not have to worry about change management.

Enerva Oy's service solution functions as a proof of concept for this innovation. Enerva was founded in early 2019, when an infrastructure company and three electric utilities were the first in Finland to develop a service concept in which the distribution network monitoring and operation was centralized to serve several electric utilities.

The utilities have separate Network Information Systems but they share a common Distribution Management System (DMS). The data in all three Network Information Systems is updated on a daily basis and transferred to the DMS using Trimble’s solution for seamless system integration. Easy and reliable change management keeps the information up-to-date also in the DMS.

In addition to this kind of service concept, the innovation enables many interesting solutions. So stay tuned!
