Järvi-Suomen Energia – an electric utility in the lake district of Finland – has chosen Trimble as its partner for strategic and operational network asset management. The SaaS (Software as a Service) solution consists of modular applications that support, among other things, network documentation and planning, as well as optimal management of investment projects and maintenance programmes.
Key features of this asset management solution include strong process support throughout the network lifecycle and seamless workflows between office and field operations. The solution is developed in partnership with Nordic utilities, with the latest functionality including robotically assisted network design.
Järvi-Suomen Energia distributes electricity to over 100 000 customers. The network has a total length of 28 000 km, and the company invests around EUR 50 million in it each year.
– For an electric utility like Järvi-Suomen Energia, the network information system is one of the most critical systems around which almost all our operations are built. We trust in Trimble's ability to deliver and develop such a critical part of our operations, which is delivered as Software as a Service, still rare in the field of network information systems in Finland.
The Software as a Service package provided by Trimble was the best match for Järvi-Suomen Energia's asset management needs and the direction of our business development. In the future, we will be able to further streamline our asset management processes. We will also be able to respond more effectively to the changes in our operating environment and enable a clean transition in Järvi-Suomen Energia's distribution area, comments Olli Heikkinen, Järvi-Suomen Energia's Planning Manager.
– I feel very grateful that Järvi-Suomen Energia has chosen Trimble as their service provider and partner to solve their current and future asset management challenges. We are looking forward to our journey together and the opportunity to develop innovative solutions for the needs of the electricity network business also in the future, says Jukka Leppänen, Utilities Segment Director at Trimble.
