Trimble GasOps is an end-to end application and System of Action™ toolset for natural gas utility operators to meet tracking and traceability regulatory requirements while standardizing and optimizing field data collection processes and data quality captured by crews and contractors. Trimble GasOps comprises an integrated mobile data collection app, QA/QC engine, as well as a dashboard and reporting generator for natural gas utility operators to support regulatory reporting requirements with compliance data that is traceable, verifiable and defensible.
The Trimble GasOps mobile application standardizes field data collection process across numerous mobile platforms for both field crews and contractors. Natural Gas utility operators can now easily configure field forms within the GasOps app and assign data collection tasks to crews and contractors to consistently capture tracking and traceability information from scanning new barcode formats on plastic pipe (mains and services), fittings and valves to capturing operator qualifications, photos, signatures and metadata for each natural gas distribution component. Trimble GasOps also supports Trimble high-accuracy GNSS receivers to meet location accuracy requirements of up to a centimeter. As a result, field crews and contractors can capture tracking and traceability compliance information more effectively, consistently and efficiently.
The Trimble GasOps tracking and traceability toolset includes an automated QA/QC engine for aggregating and analyzing compliance data collected by crews and contractors in the field. With the GasOps QA/QC engine, natural gas utility operators can identify and flag data discrepancies (such as GPS location issues), edit component properties and ensure overall distribution network component data accuracy and quality prior to posting to system of record. Additional spatial analysis functionality within the GasOps QA/QC engine enables thematic mapping and creation of statistical analysis for identifying of data issues, trends and discrepancies. Creating an analysis consists of choosing what is to be analyzed and how the results are presented.
Data that is processed and analyzed through the Trimble GasOps data QA/QC engine is efficiently centralized, organized and recorded within the highly scalable GasOps master data repository. Detailed natural gas distribution network component attribute and metadata information is then readily available from a single location for standardized delivery to systems of record, such as Esri ArcGIS, for data engagement across the utility from tracking and traceability compliance reporting requirements to even distribution integrity management programs (DIMP), maintenance and inspection processes, and 811 services.
As compliance data is recorded and archived within the Trimble GasOps master data repository, all data can be accessed, shared and viewed anywhere through a highly configurable web-based utility dashboard and customizable report generator. The GasOps utility dashboard packages asset data collection metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) into simplified summary views with the ability to drill down into further details. In addition to the utility dashboard capabilities, GasOps features a secure, web-based report generator that can create a variety of reports against compliance data stored within the GasOps master data repository for additional information sharing, reporting, visibility, monitoring and overall data metrics, comparisons and summaries
