Do you need more tools for communicating with your customers? How about improvements in using Utility To Go in situations where the network connection is weak? These are among the most interesting features the new Trimble NIS version has to offer.
EASY, UP-TO-DATE COMMUNICATION TO SELECTED CUSTOMERS
Send text messages to selected customers, for example to inform them about upcoming construction work. Creating messages using message templates in either Trimble NIS or Utility To Go enables fast and effortless communication directly to each customer in all kinds of situations, not only when informing about outages.
IMPROVED TASK MANAGEMENT
In addition to viewing their own tasks in Utility To Go, field crews can also view and undertake other approved tasks in the area. This improves time management of the field crews and speeds up the performing of the tasks. The field crews can also report their hours for each task in the field. You can add instructions to the objects in the tasks for performing the task. Also searching for tasks has been improved.
IMPROVEMENTS TO WORKING IN THE OFFLINE MODE AND IN THE PERFORMANCE OF UTILITY TO GO
When in offline mode, field crews can search for objects and view the most important properties in Utility To Go, which makes working easier in those areas where the network connections are poor. In addition, the performance and loading of the objects have been improved considerably. Now you can also have several attachments in maintenance data.
Also keep in mind these applications and features we published earlier this year:
TRIMBLE NETWORK OPTIMIZER – A NEXT-GENERATION PLANNING SOLUTION
Make low voltage network planning fast and easy by leveraging a next-generation planning solution whose power lies in the ability to effortlessly evaluate countless design scenarios. You will get future-proof, technically safe and feasible network designs where investments, outage costs, and operational costs and losses are minimized. These network designs are uniform in quality, which supports data-driven investment decisions in the utility, regardless of whether you are dealing with future or existing networks. Considering life-cycle costs in network planning enables the utility to save both in investments and in operative costs.
TRIMBLE UNITY CONTRACT MANAGER – LAND USE CONTRACTS FROM START TO FINISH, ALSO IN THE FIELD
With Trimble Unity Contract Manager, field planners can present construction plans to the land owners and review and edit the contract information in the field. Any changes to the network plan and contract can be made on site, and finally, the contract can be signed at one go. The contract situation is always up-to-date, and therefore, the project managers and other stakeholders have better visibility to the project status. Trimble Unity Contract Manager helps improve efficiency and save costs, as well as eliminates unnecessary delays so that network construction can start on time, as scheduled.
TRIMBLE UNITY PLANNING CONNECTOR – SHARE SOURCE DATA FOR WATER NETWORK PLANNING IN A CONTROLLED AND EASY WAY
Trimble Unity Planning Connector is a browser-based application to support the planning of water supply networks. With the application, internal and external planners of water utilities can view and edit network data, improving its quality for planning. Network data can be shared as source data from desired areas safely and without delay. The user – for example a planning consultant – can then examine the network, fill in the missing property and location data, and fix the errors. The data fixes and completions are saved into Trimble NIS, which improves the quality of the network data. Exported data in Inframodel format can be utilized directly in planning software, and therefore, there’s no need to manually edit the data.
TRIMBLE UTILITY TO GO CONSTRUCTION FOLLOW-UP – SHARE THE PROGRESS OF CONSTRUCTION FROM THE FIELD
You can now report the progress of construction directly from the field with Utility To Go. The construction status can be updated to the objects of a plan and can also be viewed in the office with Trimble NIS to help project managers get an up-to-date view on the progress. A utility can define the different states of the plan objects to support the construction process. They can be, for example, Construction started or Ready for final inspection.
