Book traversal links for Improved Design & Staking Workflows
CHALLENGE
Design and staking processes are too long
Columbia, MO-based Boone Electric Cooperative wanted to improve the way CAD files are created and sent to engineers staking in the field.
SOLUTION
Trimble Network Information System shortens both design and staking workflows
Through Trimble’s Network Information System (NIS), Boone Electric design staff can more quickly and easily design and generate staking jobs in CAD files, send the file to engineers in the field to stake a job. During the staking process, the Trimble NIS system also automatically picks the design codes for each staking job, generates the CAD file with the staking information overlaid in the Trimble NIS system, leading to more accurate designs then their previous, manual design processes.
BENEFITS
Overall Improvement in design and staking time and accuracy
- Decreased the time to design a new staking job by 1 hour per job
- Generated more accurate designs and material lists
- Reduced redesigns with more automated and efficient staking design tools
- Reduction in staking job rework with more accurate designs
